Most PDF to Excel converters upload your file and do the work on their servers. That matters when the PDF is a bank statement, a payslip, or an invoice. How to convert a PDF to Excel

Add your PDF. Drag it onto the box or click to choose it. A scan works too: if there is no text to copy, the page offers to read it with OCR.
Pick Excel or CSV. Excel gives you one sheet for each page that has a table. CSV puts every page in one file.

It runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox), so there is nothing to install. The result opens in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice. Very large files are limited by your device's memory, since that is where the work happens.

Honest limits

It extracts the data, meaning rows, columns, and numbers. Fonts, colors, borders, and merged cells do not carry across.
Regular tables come out clean. Cells that wrap onto several lines come out rougher.
OCR reads English text. Faint photocopies, handwriting, and photos taken at an angle read much worse than a clean scan.
OCR is only offered when a PDF has no text at all. In a PDF that mixes text pages and scanned pages, the scanned pages are skipped.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Excel for free?

Yes. A scan is a picture of a page, so there is no text to copy. This page offers to read it with OCR instead. The engine downloads once, about 6 MB, then runs in this page on your computer, so the scan is never uploaded. It is free up to the daily cap, with no account.

Can I convert a bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV?

Yes. Dates and descriptions come through as text, and amounts such as $1,234.50 become numbers, with -12.00 or (12.00) read as negative, so you can total a column. Check the totals against the statement before you rely on them, especially for a scan.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Text is read with pdf.js and scans with Tesseract compiled to WebAssembly, both running in this page. Open developer tools (F12), choose Network, and convert. No request carries your file.

Do I need an account or email?

No. There is no signup on the site, on the free tier or a plan. Free use is 3 runs per tool per day, up to 10 MB per file.

How accurate is the OCR?

It depends on the scan. A clean, straight scan reads well, and the page shows the confidence it measured so you know how carefully to check. Faint copies, handwriting, and angled photos read much worse. If OCR finds nothing, a sharper scan at 300 dpi usually helps.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Not if the PDF needs a password to open. Remove the password first, then convert that copy.
