Most online PDF mergers upload your files to their servers, merge them there, and send back the result. That is fine for a flyer. It is less fine for a lease, a tax return, or a medical form. UpfrontPDF merges PDFs inside this page, on your own computer, using the open-source pdf-lib library. Your files are never sent to us or anyone else, and you can check that yourself: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and merge. You will see no upload. It is free every day with no account, no email, and no watermark on the result.

How to merge PDF files

Add your PDFs. Drag them onto the box or click to choose them. The free plan merges up to 3 at a time.
Set the order. The list is the order of the final file. Remove one and add it again to move it to the end.
Merge and download. The combined PDF is built on your computer and saved to your downloads.

Merging on Mac, Windows, iPhone, or Android

It runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox), so there is nothing to install on any of them. On a phone, choose files from Files/Downloads. Very large files are limited by your device's memory, since that is where the work happens.

Honest limits

Page content merges cleanly. Interactive form fields and bookmarks may not carry across.
Free: 3 files per merge, 10 MB per file, with a daily cap. Plans: any number of files, 200 MB per file. See pricing.

The work happens in this page, in your browser. Your file is never uploaded, stored, or seen by us. If you like, open your browser's network tab while you use the tool: nothing is sent. Details in the privacy policy.

Is there a free PDF merger with no upload?

How can I check my files aren't uploaded?

Open developer tools (F12), choose Network, then merge. No request carries your file.

Is there a watermark?

No, on any tier.

Do I need an account or email?

No. There is no signup on the site.

How many PDFs can I merge?

Is there a file size limit?

10 MB per file free, 200 MB on a plan.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password first, then merge that file. This page uses pdf-lib, which does not decrypt PDFs. A protected file, including one that only restricts printing or copying, does not come out readable.

Will bookmarks and form fields survive?

Page content does; interactive fields and bookmarks may not.

Does it work offline?

The merge runs on your computer, and your file is not uploaded. The page still has to load from this site, and the first merge also loads the pdf-lib library from this site. That request is the library, not your file. After that code has loaded, merging does not need a connection. Opening the page while you are already offline does not work, because nothing is saved for offline use.
